Run Out of Fuel Support

Out of fuel in Upper Hartfield (out of gas - as the Americans might say)? We run a full East Sussex Out of Fuel Service. We will get out to fill up your vehicle in the event that you are having difficulty on the motorway, roadside in the middle of nowhere, or perhaps even at your home. Our technicians can come to you with 10-20 litres of the right fuel (purchased at cost) to fill the car. They are also able to take care of any of the common troubles that can go with running out of fuel - like airlocks, vehicle not restarting, , as well as flat batteries resulting from over-cranking.

Water Contamination or AdBlue Contamination

Fuel contaminated with water, regardless of whether it's petrol or diesel, is definitely a significant condition to deal with in an automobile - particularly in present-day common-rail engines.

Putting water or AdBlue inside your diesel or petrol is likely to produce idling problems, uneven running, increased smoke and, if it is not remedied properly, in some cases damaged injectors. Water in petrol is a lot easier to drain in comparison with water in diesel - this is mainly due to the fact that diesel is an oil. Nevertheless we can take care of both circumstances rather simply.

Remember however that if the vehicle was started on the water contaminated fuel it will likely need a new fuel filter fitted seeing that the previous one is going to be thoroughly wet and ineffective.

Wrong Fuel Assist Upper Hartfield - Wrong Fuel in Car Upper Hartfield

I appreciated a terrific day hiking during my day off and felt contented with myself the following working day as I set off to aid a young family on vacation in Upper Hartfield. They had conked out after putting the wrong fuel into their faithful VW Jetta III, and were about an hour's drive away. I arrived at their position and laughed while I listened to the woman telling off her husband for turning out to be so stupid. "How could you conceivably find a way to fill up with the wrong fuel?" she asked him. I attempted to tell her that this problem occurs continuously in East Sussex and that it's nothing to stress about, and yet he still had his ear bent. I felt genuine sympathy for the lad. At any rate, I drained out all the contaminated fuel, gave the motor a flush and gave it some appropriate fuel. Watching as they drove down the road I shouted so long and wondered what my wife would tell me if ever I did the very same thing... I would never ever hear the end of it!

How to find out if I put the wrong fuel in my car?

If you’ve just filled up at a petrol station and the cars starts to act a bit strange you might start to wonder if you accidentally put the wrong fuel in it.

Well, there are a few things to can check that will be able to tell you:

  1. How is the car responding? There are some very common misfuel symptoms which can be a good indicator of wrong fuel:
    • Loss of engine power – can feel like the car has run out of fuel
    • A lot of smoke (more than usual)
    • Engine coughing or starting to splutter
    • Won’t start – or keeps stalling.
  2. Look at your fuel receipt. It will state clearly if you filled up with diesel or unleaded. If you don’t have the receipt, you can often return to the petrol station where you filled up and give them the date and time (and pump) where you refueled and they will often be able to give you a VAT receipt.
  3. Smell it. Diesel and petrol have very distinctly different smells. Anyone familiar with the motor industry should be able to help you with this. Or you could even get another car to park alongside and smell the fuel caps of both, comparing them to determine what the fuel type is.
  4. Call us to come out and assess the car. In the majority of cases we will be able to tell if the car has been misfueled before beginning work on it. If we discover that the vehicle does not need a fuel drain, you will only be charged a call-out fee.
